Group therapy is a powerful form of treatment that combines the skill of a seasoned therapist with the knowledge and support from your peers. Groups are typically run by one or two therapists and have up to 12 group members that meet weekly. Therapy groups come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can focus on learning specific skills (such as anger management, smoking cessation, or coping with anxiety), or processing specific shared experiences (such as grief or relationship difficulties). There are many benefits of group therapy including:
